At Critter Cafe, we take every precaution to ensure your feeder insects arrive healthy and ready for your pets. Before shipping, all insects are gut-loaded with natural grains and organic vegetables to improve their resilience during transit and enhance their nutritional value for your pets. We carefully package orders to allow proper ventilation and include optional heat packs for cold weather to help maintain a safe temperature during transit.

Our goal is to provide reliable delivery so your pets receive the quality feeders they need, on time. For any concerns or issues, our customer support team is always available to assist.​

Location Exclusions

Hawaii/Florida

Due to state laws, we are unable to ship any insects to the state of Hawaii. We are also not permitted to ship Dubia Roaches to the state of Florida.

At Critter Cafe, we’re committed to delivering healthy, gut-loaded insects that arrive in excellent condition and ready for your pets. If anything is wrong with your order, we’ll make it right.  Once your order is delivered, it’s crucial to their survival and overall health they are brought into a temperature-controlled environment and unpackaged right away.

 

Why You Should Retrieve Your Delivery Right Away​​

    • Summer Heat: A postal box left in direct sunlight can reach dangerously high temperatures, turning it into a furnace that can quickly harm or kill the insects.

    • Winter Cold: Freezing temperatures can shock or kill insects within minutes if left unattended.

    • Mild Weather Risks: Even on milder days, drastic temperature swings in an enclosed space like a mailbox or doorstep can stress the insects.

  • Insects Need Proper Airflow and Care.
    Once delivered, the packaging—designed to protect the insects in transit—must be opened promptly to allow fresh air and prevent overheating or suffocation.

  • Prolonged Stress Reduces Their Health.
    Delays in retrieving your package can lead to stress and weakened insects, making them less nutritious and potentially unhealthy for your pets.

  • Outdoor Hazards Add Extra Risk.

    • Rain, snow, or humidity can seep into the packaging, affecting the insects’ environment.

    • Wildlife, pets, or even curious neighbors could disturb or damage the package if it’s left unattended.

Returns & Replacements

For replacements, email a photo of your shipment along with your order number to support@crittercafe.com within 4 hours of delivery. When temperatures fall below 30°F, our Live Insect Guarantee requires either adding a heat pack to your order or selecting the "hold for pickup" option at your local post office. These precautions are vital, as exposure to extreme cold can quickly be fatal to insects.
