Sourced and cultivated with the utmost care, our White Springtails are meticulously bred to offer unparalleled nutrition and vitality. Sold as one culture with calcium clay media for easy feeding and transfer!
White Springtails serve as an invaluable addition to terrariums or vivariums for several compelling reasons:
1. Natural Cleanup Crew: White Springtails act as nature's janitors, diligently consuming organic waste, decaying matter, and mold within the terrarium environment. Their presence helps maintain a clean and hygienic enclosure, reducing the risk of bacterial or fungal growth.
2. Bioactive Substrate Management: In bioactive setups, where live plants and beneficial microorganisms thrive, White Springtails play a vital role in nutrient cycling. By breaking down organic matter, they contribute to soil aeration and nutrient release, fostering a healthy ecosystem for plant growth and root development.
3. Preventing Pest Infestations: The consumption of mold and organic debris by White Springtails helps prevent the proliferation of pest insects such as mites, fruit flies, and gnats, which can disrupt the terrarium's balance and harm its inhabitants.
4. Enhanced Soil Quality: As White Springtails feed, they excrete nutrient-rich waste, enriching the substrate with essential minerals and enhancing soil fertility. This nutrient recycling process promotes a robust and sustainable terrarium ecosystem, supporting the well-being of plants and other inhabitants.
5. Stimulating Natural Behaviors: For certain reptiles and amphibians, hunting and foraging instincts are crucial aspects of their natural behavior. Introducing White Springtails into the terrarium provides enrichment opportunities, encouraging natural hunting behaviors and promoting physical activity and mental stimulation.
6. Supporting Small Inhabitants: In vivariums housing small amphibians, such as dart frogs or tree frogs, White Springtails serve as a readily available food source. Their small size and prolific breeding make them an ideal prey item for these delicate creatures, ensuring they receive a varied and nutritious diet.
Overall, incorporating White Springtails into a terrarium or vivarium offers numerous benefits, from waste management and pest control to ecosystem stability and animal enrichment. Their role as natural cleaners and contributors to a thriving ecosystem makes them an indispensable component of any bioactive setup or reptile habitat.

Care Instructions
Our springtails are sold in a container pre-filled with a clay medium that retains moisture. They can be kept at room temperature avoiding direct sunlight. Their container comes pre-filled with food, but if kept for longer than one week, simple brewers yeast can be sprinkled onto clay medium for food. If clay appears dry, spray with filtered water from a spray bottle to moisten. To feed to your pet or add springtails to enviornment, simply turn container upside down and tap desired amount of springtails onto lid and then place in terrarium.
